Dr. Summer Watson, MHS, PhD (Bio):
Dr. Summer Watson, MHS, PhD is a High-Performance Coach, Dr. of Psychology with a Clinical Emphasis, Podcaster, Event Producer, Live Show Host, Author, and Military Spouse of over 21-years. Dr. Summer Watson is the Founder of KORE Women, LLC. KORE Women is a unique home for the hearts and souls of women, where they can Kinetically connect, Organically learn from one another, Reshape lives through diverse interaction, and Empower one another to promote change. KORE Women strives to support women through shared wisdom, kindness, mentorship, and guidance as well as through the use of films, podcasts, and in-person and virtual seminars to share their journeys, stories, and strategies to support each other’s success.
Dr. Watson is also the co-creator of the live show, “The Emotional Entrepreneur” along with her amazing co-host and Partner, Jen Fontanilla. The show serves as a safe space for entrepreneurs to talk about the emotions that they are experiencing as they build a successful business. You might be wondering, why the title "The Emotional Entrepreneur"? This refers to an individual who approaches entrepreneurship with a strong emphasis on emotional agility, empathy, and a deep understanding of human emotions. This person prioritizes creating businesses or ventures that not only aim for financial success but also contribute positively to people's emotional well-being.
Dr. Watson and Jen also recently produced a large conference in San Diego in February of 2023, where there were several military veterans, military spouses and entrepreneurs from around the country in attendance. This conference was entitled, “GRITConn,” which stands for Growth, Resiliency, Intention, Transformation, and Connection. It was an incredible experience and folks walked away feeling connected to an incredible community and ready to take the next steps toward their passions and purpose.
Dr. Watson’s Passion and Purpose:
Dr. Watson’s mission, most importantly, is to bring community together to share their wisdom, creativity, and expertise to help each other in their process of building successful businesses. She is also focused on helping people identify and incorporate what it is to be an emotionally agile entrepreneur, which impacts all aspects of strategy when developing a healthy and thriving business. Dr. Watson also supports others to become more empowered and to understand the importance of building community relationships.
Dr. Watson published a phenomenological study, “Effects of the War in Iraq on Military Marriages,” in which she studied six factors that affect military marriages separated by war. Dr. Watson holds a bachelor’s in English Literature from the University of California, Berkeley, a master’s in Human Services with a Specialty in Community Counseling from National University, San Diego, and a PhD in Psychology with a clinical emphasis from Saybrook University, Pasadena, CA. She also has been certified in teaching, mediation, substance abuse education and prevention, and leadership. She has served as a High-Performance Coach to those who are C-suite level executives, entrepreneurs, writers, creatives, and those in both the for-profit and non-profit settings. She has facilitated communication groups, taught courses in career transition, psychology, and human services, and has served as a mentor for doctoral students.
Dr. Watson was also right by her husband’s side, while he served a full career in the U.S. Marine Corps for over 21+ years. She has traveled and lived in many different states in the U.S. and lived in Okinawa, Japan for three years. During those three years in Okinawa, Dr. Watson’s husband was away on a mission for an entire year. She has lived the military life and created programs to support our military members as a volunteer and as an employee for the government and as a contractor.
